chaussette b. is a french paintographer in Hong Kong.
After 15 years of crazy work in the retail industry in Paris and Hong Kong, chaussette b. decided to quit this sector and dabble in all the things she had never managed to find the time for. She came up with a long list of all the things she wanted to try out, which included driving a truck, learning carpentry , making jewelry, painting...
She tried almost everything on that list. Eventually she whittled it down to two things : painting and photography.
Each of her paintograph is the combination of dozens of photographs she captured herself in many different places and in her studio in Cheung Chau, then brazenly twist, manipulate and combine to get the canvas she had in mind.
From photographs blends, included photographs of acrylic texture paint, and by overlaying her photographs , drawing light and shadows, she came with a painting- looks-like final workers.
Her poetic work tells the story of a murky rainy day ripening into an agreeable moment thanks to gallows humor and irony
Her paintographies are regularly displayed in Hong Kong, check on her website the current one.
