Kelly is a fine art photographer with a focus on minimalist, black and white architectural images. She uses post processing to extract elements of our urban environment in a quest for some peace and serenity amidst the chaotic sprawl.
Kelly's latest project looks specifically at vast covered scaffolding surrounding individual buildings in Hong Kong. In their existing environment, these buildings can be a bit of a blight on the urban landscape. However in isolating them, the resulting images present their subjects with an unconventional majesty, beauty and tranquility. Textures, light and shade are highlighted along with the immense amount of work that goes into erecting the enormous bamboo structures, delicately preserved by their sheer drapes. The project also reflects the constant state of urban change and rapid development in Hong Kong.
Kelly achieved a first class degree in photography and digital imaging in the UK and is currently based in Hong Kong. She has received numerous honourable mentions across some of the key photography awards and has been featured in a number of photographic magazines / photo books. Kelly has previously held two solo documentary exhibitions in London, UK.
